Early Anglo-Saxon (c.600-775), silver Sceat, 695-740, Early Anglo-Saxon period (c.600-775), Continental issues (c.695-c.740), Porcupine type, Series E, late variety. Obv. Thin crescent enclosing three bars, cross right, pellets below. Rev. Central annulet containing offset pellet, three outward facing pelleted chevrons, one inward pelleted chevron, chevrons in margin. 1.23g, (S.790B; SCBI 69 252ff; SL 96-10). A handsome coin with a delightful deep cabinet tone, the fields trouble free and the devices sharp, a choice and desirable example thus. Extremely fine.
